We'll be talking about ways to connect within to face the buildup of emotions, as well as strategies to build peaceful and compassionate connections with family, friends, co-workers, and strangers. As our communities reopen and recover from the pandemic, mental health remains an important part of making the transition. Join us for a talk from, Dr. Julia Lee, a practicing physician of Eastern medicine, as she offers an approach towards inner wellbeing that is rooted in Eastern philosophy. This approach (“the art of the heart” - termed xinshu, 心術, in Chinese) involves an active cultivation of one’s inner calm, stability and clarity. Through practice, one’s inner center can be strengthened such that one remains peaceful despite challenging external circumstances. In this talk, Dr. Lee will draw on examples from popular books, movies, and science to illustrate these classical concepts of Eastern philosophy.
